Our Mission
Sikh Channel Aid (SCA) is a relief and development agency that became established in the United Kingdom in 2013. SCA is a branch of Sikh Channel Community Broadcasting Company Limited (Charity No 1136163). SCA works in response to the humanitarian requirements of the global Sikh community and widespread communities internationally. We work very closely with the Sikh Channel which is the first free-to-air television platform of its kind for both Sikh’s and non-Sikh’s.
SCA’s work is governed by the teachings of the Sikh faith. They are predominantly; Kirat Karo (doing honest work), Naam Japo (Remember God/Meditate) and Vand Chhako (Seva, share what you have with others). We implement these teachings through emergency responses to natural disasters and by helping to eliminate poverty and its causes through developing sustainable solutions.
As SCA develops and blossoms our vision is the alleviation of poverty, education for all and that those in need have a provision of basic amenities. SCA would like to create a world where charity and compassion produce justice, self-reliance and human development. Through commitment, projects, volunteers, compassion and most importantly donations, SCA believes this goal is achievable.
SCA values; compassion and sensitivity to others needs and conditions; empowerment of people to recognise their own potential; justice for all by considering the rights of people and treating them with the dignity and respect they deserve regardless of their ethnic background.
